چکیده
Abstract Introduction Sleep spindles are neural oscillations of frequency between 11 to 16 Hz during non rapid eye movement sleep. They coordinated with hippocampal ripples and slow facilitate memory consolidation by modulating synaptic plasticity. Fast spindles, predominant in central parietal derivations EEG Stage 2 NREM sleep, associated overnight visuomotor skills enhancement, especially the later part night. The relationship fast sleep psychomotor ability has not been characterized well, particularly older adults. objective this study was microstructure various stages cognition good poor sleepers. Methods This is a cross sectional observational conducted on male participants (age 63.6 ± 5.22 years). Good (n=9) sleepers (n=7) were classified basis PSQI score (<=5 good). Overnight polysomnography done ICMR-NCTB battery administered for assessment cognition. In DOMINO software, after visual artifact removal, analyzed selecting - 12.99 (slow) F4, 13 -16 (fast) C2. Statistical analysis using GraphPad prism (v 9.4.1). Results spindle index N2 (good sleeper: r = -0.850, p 0.006; 0.398, 0.466), density -0.870, 0.004; -0.331, 0.468), total number deep -0.600, 0.031; -0.244, 0.599), -0.833, 0.025; -0.080, 0.865) found be negatively correlated assessed trail making test. Conclusion Among adults, sleepers, as compared overall have higher there significant correlation better ability.
